Posted by on Friday, 01 August 2008 As I promised, a new layout and some new features have been installed in time for August. Naturally, these new features will expand in time, so for now, take your time and relax and let me know what you think of the new layout, the new features and just about everything else, on the forums. The layout and new features will likely be tweaked a little over the following days so let me know what's good and what's bad and I can adjust accordingly.
Have a good day! |

The official Japanese Suikoden site has announced the release of a new manga on its downloadable cell phone service. 幻 想水滸伝 -愛の劇場- (Suikoden -Love of Theatre-) is apparently available to Konami Mobile users. More details will be posted as they become available. |

According to German game site Gamefront.de, a Japanese wholesaler had the game on a pricing list but the entry has since been deleted. The entry, available on the front page of the previously mentioned site, translates roughly as follows. Konami Plan New Genso Suikoden? 01.07.08 - UNCONFIRMED: Konami could perhaps be working on a new Genso Suikoden. There was a price list from a Japanese wholesaler show in which the role-playing game temporarily appeared. Meanwhile, the entry is deleted. If the price list was correct, the game could still be announced this week in Japan. Konami has no new Genso Suikoden for PSP announced at this time. However, the rumour, which seems to have originated from 2ch is said to be a lot less detailed than reported on forums and gaming sites. Don’t get too excited. |

As we can see from this link, the original Genso Suikoden has been made available through Konami Net DX, a subscription mobile phone service from Konami offering many different features in Japan. The game is available for subscribers to the service (315 Yen a month, including tax) on cell phones of a 703/903i system or higher. It costs 500 "DX Points" to download. Obviously the picture resolution has been changed to fit a cell phone but it appears to be a faithful port of the original game. Screenshots are available below. |

Suikoden on the PlayStation Network? |

According to this link at the ESRB site, a Suikoden game has been rated for release on the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation 3. The game has the same rating (Everyone) and the same content more or less (Mild Language, Mild Violence compared to the original’s Animated Violence, Mild Language) as the original Suikoden, released on the PSOne way back in 1995. While not conclusive evidence, it does suggest an attempt to continue some sort of awareness of the Suikoden series as news regarding a rumoured Suikoden VI continues to be thin on the ground. |
